Overview
A new app-switching function connects GDS Smart and Digital PDI. After Digital PDI is opened from GDS Smart, users can return to GDS Smart through the GDS-SMART button in Digital PDI.
Before You Start
- VCI II(2) or VCI3 (VCI III) must be connected.
- Auto VIN must be completed before opening Digital PDI from GDS Smart.
- On first access, sign in with your existing Digital PDI account. If you do not have an account, sign up first.
How to Switch Apps
Step 1. Open Digital PDI from GDS Smart
Open GDS Smart, tap Tool Box, and then tap Digital PDI (eVHC, CPO, DBS). GDS Smart closes and Digital PDI opens.
Important: If your GDS Smart license key starts with NHE4, the Digital PDI menu may not be displayed, even in the General region (excluding Mexico and India). In this case, please request a license renewal from your Distributor / NSC or from the place where you purchased the product and license.
How to check your license key:
- In GDS Smart, go to Configuration > Profile.
- In the Smart Launcher app, tap Using existing license key.
Step 2. Complete the first sign-in
Enter your Digital PDI ID and password when prompted. The account-link status is checked during first access.
Step 3. Return to GDS Smart
In Digital PDI, tap GDS-SMART at the top left. Digital PDI closes and GDS Smart opens.
Sign-in Convenience
You may skip entering your Digital PDI ID and password on subsequent visits when all of the following conditions are met:
- You are using the same device as before.
- You have accessed Digital PDI within the last 90 days.
- You have changed your Digital PDI password within the last 180 days.
If any condition is not met, you may be asked to sign in again.
Important Notes
- Diagnosis numbers and records created in GDS Smart or Digital PDI are not transferred between the apps. Only the app-switching function is supported.
- The GDS-SMART return button is available only when Digital PDI was opened through GDS Smart. It is not shown when Digital PDI is opened independently.
- When Digital PDI is opened for the first time, you cannot go directly to GDS Smart. First open Digital PDI through GDS Smart; you can then return to GDS Smart.
- To support this feature, Digital PDI will be installed on users' tablets. Existing Digital PDI installations will be updated automatically; users without Digital PDI will receive a new installation.
- If Digital PDI is not required, delete the Digital PDI app.
