Target: Those using KDS(1.0)
Applicable Regions: Europe, Asia, Pacific, Oceania, Middle East, Africa, Latin America and US Territories.
Implementation Schedule: First phase planned for January 2026 (Detailed schedule to be announced later)
1) Overview
To enhance security, TLS 1.2 will be applied to the diagnostic tool update servers in Europe and China.
KDS 1.0 currently do not support TLS 1.2, so when applied, updates and diagnostic service usage may be restricted.
2) Expected Impact
- Functions requiring server communication or network connection may become unusable or may encounter errors.
- Even if the diagnostic app can be launched, failure may occur during server-related procedures (authentication/download/update verification), making normal use difficult.
3) Customer Guidance and Recommended Actions
- Transition to KDS 2.0: By using the KDS 2.0 platform instead of KDS 1.0, you can ensure compatibility with the latest OS and security protocols, enabling stable and reliable service.
▶KDS Update Service Termination - Tablet Replacement/Transition: For devices that cannot use KDS 2.0, replacement with devices supporting higher OS versions or transition to new equipment is advised.

▶How to transition to KDS 2.0
4) Schedule and Follow-up Notices
- First phase implementation: January 2026 (Specific date will be separately notified once confirmed)
- After implementation, service use may be restricted on devices with KDS 1.0, so please perform preliminary checks and establish transition plans during December.

[FAQ]
Q1. Why is TLS 1.2 being implemented?
A. To comply with security standards and strengthen data protection, the communication protocol of the update servers is being upgraded. Applying the latest standard improves network security and stability.
Q2. What issues will occur with Android 4.4 or below devices?
A. Due to lack of TLS 1.2 support, server-linked functions such as authentication, download, and verification may not work or may produce errors, restricting use of updates and report integration services.
Q3. Can the issue be resolved by upgrading the OS?
A. Some devices may have upgrade restrictions due to manufacturer policies or hardware limitations. Please update to Android 8.0 or above if possible. If not, transitioning to devices supporting higher OS versions is recommended.
Q4. By when should actions be taken?
A. Please check the OS and establish transition plans before the first phase implementation (January 2026). Taking action in advance minimises the risk of service interruption.
Q5. What must be done during on-site operations?
A. Before implementation, please download essential resources/updates in advance, locally back up materials needed for work, and secure alternative equipment.
Q6. How about additional costs or support?
A. Equipment replacement/transition and support policies may vary by corporation and region. Please contact your regional representative or Quality Service team for detailed guidance.
Thank you.
