About This Guide
The update service for legacy GDS Mobile has been officially terminated. To ensure continued technical support, access to advanced diagnostic features, and compatibility with new vehicle models, all RND labs must upgrade to the GDS Smart (4th generation) platform. This guide provides the step-by-step instructions to install and activate GDS Smart strictly in a research and development lab environment.

Hardware and Software Requirements
Before proceeding with the installation, verify that your lab equipment meets the following minimum requirements. Please note that iOS devices are not supported for GDS Smart.
- Tablet Device: Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 or higher
- Operating System: Android 12 or later
- Memory (RAM): 6GB or more
- Storage Space: Minimum 64GB (128GB or more is highly recommended for RND data logging)
Step-by-Step Installation Process
Follow these instructions to successfully transition from GDS Mobile to GDS Smart (4th Gen):
- Submit VCI II Information: Locate the serial number on your VCI II device. Send an email containing this serial number to the official support channel at sale2@gitauto.com to initiate the lab transition process.
- Obtain the License Key: The GIT sales and support team will verify your hardware and issue a unique GDS Smart license key assigned to your RND lab.
