Dear Customers,
We have identified an error in the display logic of the
ECU Upgrade List within Smart Diagnosis. Due to this issue,
the
list may show incorrect upgrade targets.
Therefore, do NOT perform ECU Upgrade via Smart Diagnosis.
✅ Current Workaround (Mandatory)
-
Access ECU Upgrade directly:
- Check upgrade eligibility from the ECU Upgrade menu (not from Smart Diagnosis).
- Perform ECU Upgrade Events in AUTO or Manual mode as appropriate.
⛔ Prohibited
- Entering Smart Diagnosis to view or rely on the ECU Upgrade List for upgrade decisions.
-
Initiating ECU Upgrade from within Smart Diagnosis.
🔧 Planned Improvement
- We are working to improve the app logic so that the ECU Upgrade List displayed via Smart Diagnosis shows the correct upgrade targets.
- Once the improvement is completed and validated, we will issue an additional notice with guidance and applicable versions.
⚠️ Warning — ECU Upgrade Event Visibility & TSB Checklist
-
By default, ECU Upgrade events that a vehicle is eligible to perform appear in ECU Upgrade – AUTO MODE based on the vehicle model, VIN, engine (battery) type, and the target controller’s ROM ID.
※ Some ECU Upgrade events are displayed only in Manual Mode. Please review the relevant TSB carefully. -
If you have confirmed—based on the TSB—that the vehicle is eligible but the Diagnostic App (ECU Upgrade) does not display the specific event, possible causes include:
- GSW account permissions issue; or
- The TSB has not been released by the Distributor to Dealers.
Please contact your Distributor and confirm whether the TSB has been copied/released.
- If you have already performed an ECU Upgrade via Smart Diagnosis for a vehicle not eligible for the upgrade, please stop further operations and contact your regional NSC or the GIT Customer Service Center at Submit a reqeust for assistance.
We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your cooperation in following the procedure above to ensure correct ECU upgrade operations.
