Error code occurred during ECU upgrade (5021-31-7F22)

Symptom: ECU upgrade in progress, error code [5021-31-7F22]

Cause

1. Negative response from controller to ECU upgrade erase memory or check dependency command

2. The vehicle is not a target for the event that you are about to perform

3. If the ECU software being updated does not match the controller specifications, a popup will usually appear.

Resolution:

1. Check if pre-conditions are met such as IG-ON(Engine off), 12V Battery condition. 
2. It is necessary to check which function of the AUTO mode or Manual mode was used to upgrade the ECU.
3. If it was performed in manual mode, it is necessary to check whether the ECU upgrade was attempted in a small category suitable for the controller(ROM ID not corresponding).
4. It is necessary to check whether the car is equipped with after-market equipment.
