Symptom:
- When the firmware update of the leak tester fails,
- When the leak tester's LCD screen does not display properly (blank screen),
- When the leak tester is not operating normally.
Possible Causes of Firmware Update Failure:
- Temporary Bluetooth instability causing signal interruption.
- Power connection is interrupted due to external factors.
In these cases, you can recover by retrying the firmware update as below.
Steps for Firmware Recovery:
- Connect the power to the ULT-M100 that encountered the firmware update failure and turn it on
- On GDS Smart/KDS2.0, select any EV model/year/engine and enter S/W Management. Go to “BMS - Battery Control / High Voltage Battery Pack and Coolant Line Leak Test.”
In the device connection screen, search for your ULT-M100 then, connect it on tablet PC. (Battery code does not need to be scanned for FW recovery)
You need to switch the leak tester device to firmware update mode. Please follow the steps below:
1) To change the mode, prepare the ‘Pressure Sensor Module for Battery Pack’ [G7XHDNN008].
2) Attach the magnet to the BLE LED as shown in the diagram.3) When the judgement LED starts blinking(orange), remove the magnet from the device. If the Orange light is blinking, it is in forced firmware update mode.
- Then, going back to GDS Smart/KDS2.0, then, tap 'OK'. Then you see the pop-up notice, tap 'OK' to proceed with the firmware update. FW update will be started.
After completing FW update, you need to rescan and pair ULT-M100 to your tablet.
After selecting the device, tap "OK" and start diagnosis.
- When the firmware update reaches 100%, the device will reboot, completing the update.
