24 December 2025 07:02 Updated

Smart Launcher is an installer app for diagnostic apps like GDS Smart, requiring user authentication for resource download and installation. Versions 1.287 (North America) and 1.294 (other regions) apply. Due to Android 15 restrictions, the background download button was removed. Users must keep the Smart Launcher screen active during downloads and installation to prevent interruptions, which can cause malfunction or require reinstallation. Only after completion is it safe to leave the app.

Removal of Background Download Button

From Android 15 onwards, network access restrictions for background apps have been strengthened, which may limit network traffic (e.g., file downloads) when the app is running in the background.

4) Important Usage Instructions (Do Not Move to Home Screen During Download/Installation)

If you exit to the home screen (or another app) during resource download, the download may be interrupted.
→ Please keep the Smart Launcher screen active until the resource download reaches 100% completion.
After all resources are downloaded and you enter the installation phase, do not exit to the home screen until installation is fully complete.
→ If installation is interrupted, it may appear as if the installation is complete, but the app may not function properly, and reinstallation might be required.

5) FAQ

Q1. Why does a problem occur if I go to the home screen during resource download?
A. When you go to the home screen, Smart Launcher goes into the background state, and the download may be interrupted. Please keep the screen active during download.

Q2. What problems occur if I go to the home screen during installation?
A. If installation is interrupted midway, it may appear as if the installation is complete, but internal components (files/resources) may not be properly applied, causing the app to malfunction. In such cases, reinstallation may be necessary.

Q3. When is it okay to go to the home screen?
A. Only after all resource downloads are complete and installation is fully finished should you move away. (Do not move during download/installation process)
