App Error Resolution Guide

GDS Smart / GENESIS Smart If the app freezes or forcibly closes when launched, please follow the steps below before requesting support.

Q1. When I launch the app, the screen freezes or suddenly closes. Why does this happen?

When the diagnostic app runs, it communicates with an internal service that prepares the connection to the Vehicle Communication Interface (VCI). If this service does not respond properly, the app may become unresponsive and be forcibly closed by the Android system.

Q2. What should I do if a forced closure occurs?

Please follow the two steps below in order. This is the official recommended procedure from the GIT development team.

Step 1 — Initialise Communication Service

Open the tablet Settings.
In Applications, find GITCommManagerService.
Tap Force Stop.
Tap Storage and then tap Clear Data.

Step 2 — Restart the Diagnostic App

In Applications, find the diagnostic app.
Tap Force Stop.
Launch the app again.

Q3. The issue persists even after the above steps. What should I do?

If the problem continues after Step 1 and Step 2, please fully restart the tablet itself.

Completely turn off the tablet’s power (power off, not restart).
Turn the power back on after 30 seconds.
Connect the VCI and then launch the app.

Q4. What should I do if the issue continues despite all these measures?

If the problem persists after all the above steps, please collect a dump log and submit an inquiry. The log contains essential information for identifying the cause, and it is difficult to analyse the exact cause without it.

The collected dump log file
Tablet model and Android OS version
