App Error Handling Guidance
KDS 2.0 may freeze or crash when launched. Before requesting support, please follow the steps below.
Q1. When I launch the app, the screen freezes or suddenly closes. Why does this happen?
The diagnostic app communicates with an internal service that prepares the connection to the Vehicle Communication Interface (VCI) when it starts. If this service does not respond normally, the app may become unresponsive and be forcibly closed by the Android system.
Q2. What should I do if the app crashes?
Please follow the two steps below in order. This is the official recommended procedure from the GIT development team.
Step 1 — Initialise Communication Service
- Open the tablet Settings.
- Find GITCommManagerService under Applications.
- Tap Force Stop.
- Tap Storage and then Clear Data.
Step 2 — Restart the Diagnostic App
- Locate the diagnostic app under Applications.
- Tap Force Stop.
- Launch the app again.
Q3. The problem persists even after following the above steps. What should I do?
If the issue continues after Step 1 and Step 2, please fully restart the tablet device.
- Completely power off the tablet (not just a restart).
- Turn the power back on after 30 seconds.
- Connect the VCI and then launch the app.
Q4. What should I do if the issue persists even after all the above steps?
If the problem continues after all the above measures, please obtain a dump log and submit an enquiry. The logs contain essential information for identifying the cause, and it is difficult to analyse the root cause accurately without them.
Step 1 — Obtain Dump Logs
Please refer to the guide below to acquire the logs.
▶ How to Obtain Logs and Dump Logs When the Diagnostic App Abnormally Closes
Step 2 — Please attach the following information when submitting your enquiry
- The acquired dump log file
- Tablet model and Android OS version
- Date and time when the issue first occurred
- Whether the issue is isolated to a single device or occurs simultaneously on multiple devices
