[North America] I Cannot See ECU Upgrade Event Files on GDS Smart / KDS 2.0 / GENESIS Smart

If target ECU Upgrade event files do not appear on GDS Smart, KDS 2.0, or GENESIS Smart in North America (HMA / KMA / GMA / HACA / KCI), follow the resolution steps below to install the latest Internet Update, reset the cached event.lst file, and—if the issue persists—collect the required tablet PC database files (GSW*.sqlite, GSW*_L.sqlite) and ECU log folder (NvciData/log/ecu) for North America Technical Support.

 
 

1. Symptom

Target ECU Upgrade event files do not appear in the ECU Upgrade menu on GDS Smart, KDS 2.0, or GENESIS Smart.

2. Resolution Steps (Latest Update & Resetting event.lst)

  1. Check TSB Applicability & Perform Latest Update: Verify that the vehicle model, model year, part number, and ROM ID match the TSB, and check ECU Upgrade History and Manual Mode. Then perform the latest Internet Update on GDS Smart, KDS 2.0, or GENESIS Smart and recheck the ECU Upgrade list.
  2. Manually Reset the Cached Event List (event.lst): If the event still does not appear after updating, follow the steps below:
    1. Shut down GDS Smart, KDS 2.0, or GENESIS Smart completely.
    2. Open the My Files app on the tablet PC and navigate to Internal storage/nvci/update.
    3. Delete the event.lst file.

    Remove event.lst in Internal storage/nvci/update

    1. Restart GDS Smart, KDS 2.0, or GENESIS Smart.
    2. Select the vehicle, model year, and engine, then enter the ECU Upgrade menu.
    3. The event list will be downloaded automatically from the server.
 

3. Required Tablet PC Files & North America Support Contacts If Issue Persists

If the ECU Upgrade event still does not appear after performing the latest update and resetting event.lst, please collect the following 3 tablet PC files along with the VIN, TSB number, missing Event number, and dealer login ID when contacting Technical Support:

3. Entire ECU Log Folder Internal storage/NvciData/log/ecu (Entire folder) Compress the entire ecu folder into a .zip file (see How to get ECU logs from your tablet)
