App Error Handling Guide
KDS 2.0 may freeze or force close when running. Please follow the steps below before submitting a support request.
Q1. When I launch the app, the screen freezes or suddenly closes. Why does this happen?
The diagnostic app communicates with an internal service that prepares the connection to the Vehicle Communication Interface (VCI) when launched. If this service does not respond properly, the app may become unresponsive and be force closed by the Android system.
Q2. What should I do if the app force closes?
Please follow the two steps below in order. This is the official recommended procedure from the GIT development team.
Step 1 — Initialize Communication Service
- Open the tablet Settings.
- In Applications, locate GITCommManagerService.
- Tap Force Stop.
- Tap Storage, then tap Clear Data.
Step 2 — Restart the Diagnostic App
- In Applications, find the diagnostic app.
- Tap Force Stop.
- Launch the app again.
Q3. The issue persists even after the above steps. What should I do?
If the problem continues after Step 1 and Step 2, please perform a full restart of the tablet.
- Completely turn off the tablet (power off, not restart).
- Wait 30 seconds, then turn the tablet back on.
- Connect the VCI and launch the app.
Q4. What should I do if the issue still continues after all these steps?
If the issue persists after all the above steps, please collect a dump log and submit a support ticket. The logs contain essential information for diagnosing the cause, and without them, accurate analysis is difficult.
Step 1 — Collect Dump Logs
Please refer to the guide below to collect the logs.
▶ How to Collect Logs and Dump Logs for Diagnostic App Abnormal Termination
Step 2 — Attach the following information when submitting your ticket
- The collected dump log files
- Tablet model and Android OS version
- Date and time when the issue first occurred
- Whether the issue occurs on a single device or simultaneously on multiple devices
