PDI Error Code Quick Reference Table

For dealers using the Hyundai·Genesis PDI (pre-delivery inspection) app, this article provides messages, occurrence stages, key causes, and immediate on-site actions for each error code.

Code 0319

Vehicle info download failed (0319)

 VIN lookup Delayed vehicle information response (60-second timeout)

This is not a device malfunction.

  1. Please retry the lookup after a short wait, or proceed with an offline inspection if urgent.
Code 502

VIN information does not exist on server (502)

 VIN lookup Before server synchronization of new vehicle shipment information (10~12 KST), or a CKD/pre-production vehicle
  1. Please check whether this is a mass-production vehicle.
  2. Please retry the lookup after server synchronization or use an offline token.
Code 912

Invalid Field Data (912) (stuck at 74%)

 Result upload Missing Starting Miles on page 7 of the inspection sheet or special characters in the RO
  1. Please go to page 7 of the sheet, enter the starting mileage (numbers) correctly, and then resend.
Code 1000

Failed to turn on Shipping Mode (1000)

 After the test drive Attempt to enter Shipping Mode with the engine running (Engine ON) immediately after driving
  1. Please turn off the engine (Engine OFF), press the [Start] button 2 times without pressing the brake (IG ON), and then retry.
Code 1003

Bluetooth connection has been lost (1003)

 Auto VIN / Test drive
  • VIN not recorded in the ECU
  • Outdated app/DB
  • Outdated PIM(Mini VCI) FW
  1. Please check the engine ECU VIN Write using GDS Smart.
  2. Please update the app/DB to the latest version.
  3. Please update the PIM(Mini VCI) FW.
Code 1004

Failed to download configuration for CRL (1004)

 App installation / Authentication Waiting for security certificate synchronization
  1. Please try logging in again after some time.
  2. Please contact the Customer Support Center if the issue persists.
Code 1015

There are no Test Drive items / Failed to read 5 times (1015)

 Entering the test drive
  • Residual cache from the previously inspected vehicle
  • Vehicle not started (Engine ON / EV READY)
  • New vehicle DB not updated
  1. Please completely close the app and then restart it.
  2. Please confirm Engine ON(READY) and that the doors are closed.
  3. Please update to the latest diagnostic DB.
Code 1028

This inspection is not supported (1028)

 Battery inspection Unofficial device language setting or missing battery master DB for a new vehicle model
  1. Please change the tablet language to the local official language and update the vehicle model DB.
Code 1029

Unknown error (1029)

 VCI II(2) pairing Incorrect Bluetooth pairing PIN entered (0000, 1234, etc.)
  1. Please enter the official VCI II(2) pairing PIN 0701.
Code 1064

No campaign data (1064)

 Campaign inspection Campaign not registered on the PDI web administrator site (Local Campaign)
  1. The corporate administrator should register it under System Management > Local Campaign on the PDI website.
Code 1093

Error Code 1093

 Result upload Local attachments lost/corrupted due to not being sent for an extended period

Recovery is not possible.

  1. Please reinstall/reset the app, reinspect the vehicle, and upload immediately upon completion.
Code 1999

Firmware could not be updated (1999)

 VCI III(3) update Bluetooth wireless bandwidth limitations and packet loss (stops at approximately 2%)
  1. Please connect VCI III(3) directly to the tablet with a USB-C cable and perform the update.
Code 2994 (2995/2996)

Engine ON or Operating electrical features (2994) / Ampere Check Fail

 Entry Check / Auto Check
  • Engine running or air conditioner/headlights on
  • Discharged battery (below 11.8V)
  • IBS sensor 0.00A
  1. Please set Engine OFF & IG ON and turn all electrical equipment OFF.
  2. Please charge the battery (SOC 70% or higher).
  3. Please reset the battery (-) terminal (Cap Discharge).
Code 2998

Failed to send Auto Check config file (2998)

 Entering Auto Check PIM(Mini VCI) flash memory/hardware communication failure
  1. Please check the PIM(Mini VCI) 3-color LED flashing and replace it with another properly functioning PIM(Mini VCI) module.
